The 2020 college football season hasn’t disappointed with the upsets so far.

While Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State are looking the part of a College Football Playoff contender, there’s been a lot of chaos elsewhere.

The past week in college football saw two more bowl games canceled. But some other upsets shook things up. Following Week 14's action, here are our updated bowl projections. Tennessee at No. 9 Florida: Tennessee +14 (-110) at PointsBet. For me, this game features an.

Most notably, the Big 12 has been all over the place. Several of the conference’s top teams heading into the season have gone down more than once. Just last weekend, Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns pulled off a big upset over No. 6 Oklahoma State. The Longhorns upset the Cowboys, 41-34.

What upsets could be coming in Week 10?

Here are three teams on “upset alert” heading into this weekend.

No. 11 Miami at N.C. State

College Football Week 4 Upset Picks

Road games aren’t nearly as intimidating this year as they are in a normal year, but the Hurricanes could still be vulnerable on the road against the Wolfpack.

Miami enters the Friday night game as a 10.5 point favorite, so Las Vegas is confident in the Hurricanes. However, don’t be surprised if this one gets close late.

No. 13 Indiana vs. No. 23 Michigan

Now, this one technically wouldn’t be an upset in Las Vegas’ mind, as the Wolverines are favored despite being the lower-ranked team.

But Indiana is No. 13 in the country and undefeated, so losing at home qualifies enough as a potential “upset alert” team for us in a weird season.

Jim Harbaugh’s team should be very motivated heading into Saturday.

No. 7 Texas A&M at South Carolina

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit said this week that the Aggies could be his sleeper College Football Playoff team.

“I think going into their last game of the season at Jordan-Hare, chance to go 9-1,” Herbstreit said on College Football Final this week. “Don’t have to worry about playing in a conference championship game. You look at their resume. If they win all those games, they’ll have their chance to throw their hat in the (College Football Playoff) ring and be in that discussion potentially with those others teams, whether that’s Cincinnati, BYU, maybe a Pac-12 team. I think they’ll be sitting there with a real shot to be 9-1.”

The Aggies could be for real, but don’t overlook the Gamecocks. South Carolina has had a couple of disappointing losses this season, but Will Muschamp’s team could be primed for an upset bid this weekend.

Putting four college football teams on upset alert for Week 15, including Georgia who faces a tricky test going against the Missouri Tigers.

Before the college football COVID-19 cancelations started rolling in for Week 15, there were a plethora of teams begging to be put on upset alert. Ohio State always gets that distinction for The Game against Michigan (even if the Buckeyes have owned the rivalry of late) while both Cincinnati at Tulas and Texas A&M against Ole Miss would've gotten the nod as well.

Unfortunately, all of those games are off this week with the last one being the only matchup that's slated to still be played. Lucky for us, this is a phenomenal Week 15 in college football that still has a number of teams who are deserving of being put on upset alert as they try and close their regular seasons on a strong note.

With that in mind, go ahead and mark it down; these five college football teams are on upset alert and in danger of losing on Saturday.

College football upset alert No. 5: Miami Hurricanes

Rank: 10 Opponent: 17 North Carolina Tar Heels Time: Saturday, Dec. 12, 3:30 p.m. ET

Because we saw D'Eriq King and the Miami Hurricanes get back on the field after almost four weeks last week and absolutely dismantle Duke, there seems to be some confidence in the No. 10-ranked team in the country finishing strong and making a statement to end the year, even if they were somewhat shoe-horned out of ACC Championship Game contention.

College

What last week's win seems to overlook way too much, however, is that the Blue Devils are one of the worst Power 5 teams in the country. More importantly, The U has been anything but infallible this season. Any time they've played a decent team, it's been close with a five-point over UVA, a three-point win over NC State and a one-point win over Virginia Tech.

Simply on paper, the North Carolina Tar Heels emerge as the best team among that group of Miami opponents and they could potentially cause the Hurricanes a lot of problems. No, the defense isn't necessarily equipped to slow down King but the offense is more than capable of keeping the pace.

More importantly, the UNC offense has been more consistent this season. They have the ability to control the clock and game, not just explode with big plays, which has been more of Miami's M.O. on the year. Subsequently, Mack Brown's Heels could go down to Coral Gables and leave a sour taste in the Canes' mouth.

College football upset alert No. 4: Iowa Hawkeyes

Rank: 16 Opponent: Wisconsin Badgers Time: Saturday, Dec. 12, 3:30 p.m. ET

It's been a bit of a wild season for the Iowa Hawkeyes in relation to how they started the year and how they've played since. After a shocking loss to Purdue in the opener, they clawed but fell short against a quality Northwestern team. Since then, Kirk Ferentz's team has reeled off five straight wins to climb to this ranking.

While that may be the case, it's worth noting that no team Iowa has topped over this run is exactly confidence-inspiring. Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State, Nebraska and Illinois have all come by hard times this season. And though the Wisconsin Badgers come to Iowa City in a similar boat, they are more equipped to push the Hawkeyes on Saturday.

Wisconsin is 2-2 on the season but it should be noted that Paul Chryst's squad has lost to two of the best teams in the Big Ten not named Ohio State, falling in back-to-back weeks at Northwestern and then at home to Indiana. And while the Badgers weren't impressive in those games, they weren't blown off the field, losing by 10 and eight points, respectively.

Iowa's offense looked typically pedestrian in their two early-season losses and it's clear that, if nothing else, the Wisconsin defense is a fearsome group. They should be able to shut down the Hawkeyes and find enough juice from Graham Mertz to pick up the upset on Saturday.

College football upset alert No. 3: USC Trojans

College

Rank: 15 Opponent: at UCLA Bruins Time: Saturday, Dec. 12, 7:30 p.m. ET

College Football Picks Week 4

After some extremely lackluster wins over Arizona State and at Arizona to kick off their 2020 season, the USC Trojans have looked much more akin to the team that many expected them to be in their most recent pair of victories. Clay Helton's team won by 16 at Utah and the trounced Washington State on Sunday last week.

No one should exactly mistake Washington State and Utah for being Pac-12 powerhouses, however. This USC team still has plenty of issues that are concerning. The defense is prone to be easily taken advantage of while Kedon Slovis continues to be incredibly up-and-down. So that makes a rivalry matchup with UCLA increasingly dangerous.

Don't look now but the Bruins have started to really show something this year under Chip Kelly. Their loss at Oregon looks more suspect with each loss by the Ducks but that was also an extremely close game. Moreover, Colorado's surge this season makes that four-point loss not look bad at all. Then UCLA has won their other three games this season.

With the way USC struggled against Arizona State, the mobility of a matured Dorian Thompson-Robinson could cause the Trojans boatloads of issues. Moreover, if UCLA gets rolling on offense, the inconsistency of the USC offense could come to roost. Throw in the rivalry aspect of this one and things could get wild in Los Angeles.

College football upset alert No. 2: Georgia Bulldogs

College Football Predictions Week 5

Rank: 9 Opponent: at 25 Missouri Tigers Time: Saturday, Dec. 12, Noon ET

Recently I called the Georgia Bulldogs the best college football team that no one is talking about anymore because they have no shot at making the Playoff. And when you look at what this team has to offer, that assessment stands true. However, it's also worth noting that this team has nothing to play for and could just take their foot off the gas to end the 2020 season.

Quarterback JT Daniels playing his third game for the Dawgs might be the only reason that Georgia doesn't let up as they want to set up the future. However, with a defense that is littered with players likely turning their attention to the NFL and with some offensive skill players who have been a bit erratic in their own right, traveling to Missouri on Saturday is a tricky spot.

If a team goes against this iteration of Mizzou in the first year under head coach Eli Drinkwitz with less than 100 percent focus, they are going to be in trouble. The Tigers aren't the most talented team in the country but they may be one of the best coached. They have hung around in almost every game they've played in because of that as everyone is bought into what Drinkwitz is selling.

The simple truth is that the Tigers are playing for the future outlook of the program while Georgia may be about to throw in the towel with no shot at a National Championship. Given that and the moxie that Missouri has shown this year, we could see a nail-biter in Columbia.
